I’m so excited to join Heart Like A Dog and co-host Bringing Up Bella for my very first Follow-up Friday blog hop.
First of all – I’m still trying to read all of the amazing posts from the 2013 Pet Blogger Challenge. Last time I checked there were 100 bloggers that participated. AMAZING! Thanks again to Amy from Go Pet Friendly for making it happen
I’m happy that so many of you liked my idea for Pet Diggity – it gives me a little more motivation to get my butt in gear and finish the web site! Thank you!!
Kittens
The final kitten, Ziggy went to his forever home the Friday before Christmas. I have to tell you, he was an adorable little guy. He slept under the covers with me for two nights and sat on my lap while I worked during the day. ADORABLE. It was so hard for us to see him go, but this message that I received after Christmas warmed my heart:
“I hope you enjoyed the holidays! We had one of the best Christmas breaks ever and the main reason for that is Ziggy!
He is getting along so perfectly with our family. He is so easy going, and sweet and as playful as could be. Seriously the coolest cat we have known. He loves all of us back but has taken a special liking to our daughter. She has proven to be extremely responsible in taking care of Ziggy. He sleeps through the night in any one of our beds and is just the highlight of our days. As I write you now he is having a crazy time with a trader joes shopping bag!
We even took him on a trip to Seatttle last weekend and he was perfect. Traveled well in the car, adjusted quickly to the new surroundings at my Sister-in-law’s house- despite the fact that they have a cat and two little crazy kids. He even slept in my 2-year old nieces lap!
We took him to the vet because we suspect some worms, which is typical. All is good now and it was a good reason to get established at the vet and have a “professional” give our daughter tips on raising a happy, healthy kitty.
Just felt compelled to give you an update!
I also received an equally adorable email from Jezebelle and Bob’s new family. It makes my heart so happy to know that they have wonderful families to take care of them!
I wish I could be more like my dog:
Back in August I wrote this post because I was extremely frustrated about losing weight. The day I wrote this post I went for a walk and cried for most of the walk and decided that I could be depressed, or I could do something about it. I signed up for MyFitnessPal that day and didn’t look back.
It seems silly to me that such a simple little phone app could make such a big difference, but it did! The app tracks your calories for you and is SO simple to use. Most of the things that I eat are already in there, so I just type in the food, and it figures out the calories for me. I have never been one that believed in counting calories, but trust me, it works!
I have lost 20 pounds since August and I feel great because it has been slow and gradual! No gimmicks, no diets . . . just me eating 1200 calories a day. Knowing how many calories I am actually eating has been eye opening. Some of the “healthy” choices I thought I was making had more calories than I thought. The great thing is that I get MORE calories when I exercise which is VERY motivating to me. I have walked almost 300 miles since August. (yes, you read that right THREE HUNDRED MILES!!) Woo hoo! I’m not looking for kudos or praise, I just want as many people as possible to know about MyFitnessPal – I think it is the coolest app ever!
My hubby just celebrated a birthday on January 5th and we decided that Cali is the best present we could possibly ask for!
That’s it for now! I hope you have a great weekend!
